In 2003 Rutledge Engineering was awarded the contract to carry out works on the Public Address System in the MCG Northern Stand Redevelopment, as well as upgrading the Great Southern Stand system. (pictured left, image courtesy MCC©)

The installation includes the arena PA upgrade, back of house audio upgrade as well as installations within eight Function Rooms. Rutledge Engineering worked closely with the acoustic consultants with the design of the new PA, particularly with the audio distribution system and network infrastructure. 

The system design evolved around one of the latest technology innovations, Cobranet, that allows digital audio streaming via Ethernet Local Area Network. The system design allows for the control of all audio zones via a central Graphical User Interface. 

Such a comprehensive system requires all audiovisual equipment throughout the ground to be electronically monitored from a central location, with any faults automatically detected and reported.
