University Square Campus Project

October 2000 – February 2002

The University Square Campus Project gave Rutledge Engineering the opportunity to design and develop new Lecture Theatres/Tele-Teaching, Computer Classrooms, Boardrooms, Seminar Rooms and Moot Court facilities for The University of Melbourne. At the heart of the system is a sophisticated central Web control interface that allows the full management of the facilities.

The installation spanned across 32 separate facilities. The Moot Court/Lecture Theatre systems incorporate the latest courtroom and Lecture Theatre technologies in a single facility. The Moot Court (pictured left) is a fully functioning courtroom and 48-seat teaching space. The Lecture Theatre and Tele-Teaching installations integrate advanced audiovisual presentation equipment to provide a system that assists quick and flexible multimedia presentations.

The Lecture Theatres have been fitted out with facilities to present audiovisual displays and presentations utilizing video and computer projection, video conferencing, and audiovisual source material. The system has been designed to cater for further expansion and upgrading in the future as technology progresses.
