Merging Technologies AV-IT Expo 2003
October 2003 saw the realisation of "Merging Technologies AV-IT Expo 2003". This event was produced by both Rutledge Engineering and our sister company, Soundcorp. We showcased some of the latest technologies where AV and IT meet. The venue for the expo was ACMI @ Federation Square, with a strong emphasis on the systems that Rutledge installed throughout this Melbourne icon. Displayed were new technologies available in the audiovisual, videoconferencing and multimedia fields.
This is a Catalyst system, which is basically a moving projector.
The Tandberg 6000 was linked with a Tandberg 1000 with the revolutionary H264 compression
The Yamaha DM2000 is the interface for the Protools audio editting system, with high quality Dyn Audio speakers
Projectors are becoming smaller, brighter and clearer all the time, with some of these projectors on display here
Several Plasma & LCD screens were on display, showing some of the latest diaplay technologies available.
Nexo, Camco and Optocore are breaking into the large venue PA system market with their innovative speaker systems.
The three plasma screens showed a streaming/encoding video station, dREAm Scheduler and the endpoint player.
One method of control was via a PDA with a wireless LAN connection.
The central focus of the room was a control system with 5 different user interfaces.
