About the role

Our business is expanding and has been consistently growing, which now means we are looking for AV technicians in the Townsville area.

The key responsibilities of this role include providing a high level of service, audio visual support to our clients and carrying out AV technician duties including installations. You will need to demonstrate a combination of technical knowledge, reporting, and client relationship skills as the position is responsible for the efficient running of day to day audio visual operations.

The close knit nature of our AV operations means the AV Service Technician will need to be comfortable undertaking a wide variety of tasks.  We are looking for someone who has an all-round approach to the role and values customer service.

  • Install Professional Audio Visual Equipment
  • Set out, cut and install of cables such as conduit, cable tray, ducting and wire systems
  • Read and interpret schematic diagrams, panel drawings and rack layouts
  • Line Test and Commission cabling systems, including field and inter-rack cabling
  • Travel to regional and remote client sites when required
  • Observe WH&S standards ensuring all work is completed in a safe manner
  • Provide solutions on ICT & AV equipment problems
  • Liaising with clients regarding the progress of projects by working closely, and communicating effectively, with other trades on site, such as electricians and builders, on a day-to-day basis
  • Set out installation works according to specification and instruction
  • Rack wiring, termination, monitoring, testing and labelling
  • Record and maintain relevant documentation pertaining to commissioning
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Provide on-site training and mentoring
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Assists commissioning team with the testing and commissioning of AV systems including device configuration and calibration of equipment.

Skills and Experience

  • Have completed a Cert III in Electronics and Communications, or a Cert III in Telecommunications qualification is desirable
  • 3 + years’ experience with Audio Visual Equipment, power tools and rack wiring (Senior Technician)
  • Supervision of installation projects
  • Safety training
  • Advanced knowledge in video conferencing and control systems
  • A passion for providing high level technical support and customer service
  • Strong attention to detail with your ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Have a trade qualification in electronics, communications or audio visual or demonstrated equivalent is desirable.
  • Previous experience working on projects and construction sites.
  • Proven initiative and a high work ethic
  • A passion for delivering great customer service
  • Experience in fault finding, audio visual schematics and digital sound processors
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience using MS Office with particular emphasis on WORD and EXCEL
  • Strong attention to detail
