What part will you play?

We are looking for a Systems Engineer with a “can do” attitude to join our Engineering Division. This role has a critical part in contributing and providing technical guidance and expertise within the team.

Primarily in this role you will need to provide technical engineering for designs ensuring specified / required functionality and quality is catered for, including any necessary re-engineering to achieve this requirement.

Duties

  • • Design Audio Visual System design from both technical specifications and project briefs
  • • Provide system design solutions to meet written specifications at both the tender stage as well as project commencement
  • • Document management for system drawings and project correspondence
  • • Design of custom mounting hardware and brackets for audio visual equipment
  • • Provide technical support to installation and projects departments
  • • Provide on-site technical system commissioning at the completion of a project for more complex and advanced installations
  • • Production of system schematic diagrams in AutoCAD, cabling spreadsheets, and room layouts
  • • Investigation of new technology including implementation and integration
  • • Technical writing of project documentation including, but not limited to, narrative descriptions, quality and commissioning procedures and operation and maintenance manuals
  • • Design and CAD of custom metal wall plates / floor box plates for both in-house and external manufacturing
  • • Provide technical support to the sales / estimating department with system design and product functionality knowledge
  • • Attend new product / technology training courses as they become available / necessary

Skills & Experience

  • • Extensive knowledge of video, audio and control systems
  • • Strong knowledge for Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • • A Bachelor of Engineering – Electronics or similar is desirable
  • • Self-driven with good time management and prioritising skills
  • • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • • Current valid driver’s licence
  • • Standard computer skills based on Microsoft Windows
  • • Familiarity with AutoCAD LT 2014-2016
  • • ICT / Network Infrastructure background desirable
  • • Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical staff
  • • Strong Team player
